Wednesday October 30th, 2024 – Today a woman came to St. Ignatius of Loyola parish in Cincinnati to see the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue. Before leaving she said to me “I want to tell you about a miracle that happened to my 96 year old mother.” She proceeded to explain how several years ago when the statue was in the Cincinnati area, it came to St. Anne’s parish. Her mom at the time suffered from macular degeneration and could barely see anymore. None the less, she took her mom along when she went to see the statue, and told me how she pushed mom’s wheel chair right up in front of the statue, then asked her “Can you see the statue mom?” “No” came her reply. She told me “Mom loved the Blessed Mother, and I said a silent prayer asking, please let mom see the statue before we leave.” After a time they started toward the back of church about to depart when they heard it announced “It’s time to expose the Blessed Sacrament and pray the rosary.” Her mom whispered “We can’t leave without saying the rosary.” So they quickly found a place about 4 rows from the back of church and she sat down. “I knew mom couldn’t see the monstrance” she said to me. Then suddenly her mom asked “What’s that bright light? Do you see it?” She told me “It’s not like mom to speak out loud in church like that.” Her mom kept asking “Do you see it?” Then her mom asked “What’s that wreath? Oh, it’s the crown of thorns.” She was seeing the face of Christ in the monstrance. Next she saw her mom turn her head and look right at the statue.” So, she asked “Do you see the statue mom?” “She’s so beautiful!” came her reply. After they left the church her mom again couldn’t see much of anything as before, but one person left so thankful that her prayer had been answered, and her mom, who has since passed away, got a personal miracle before she died.
